Afternoon, My 2001 S40 decided that the driver side seat belt wasn't all that important yesterday. I was driving and a small clonk/clang noise went off. The seat belt went slack and as I tried to get it working again totally unravelled. Basically is is fully unravelled out now and will not go back in. Can anyone offer any advice? Ta Marco

Sounds knackered inside - probably unfixable. I have a serviceable spare (retracts correctly and no fraying) you can have for a tenner - bought from a breaker but not used. PM me if interested - I would have to charge postage though. There's plenty of others on e-bay otherwise. Easy to fit (pictures on this forum somewhere).

ShaunieS40 put a guide together with pictures last month for changing the seatbelt unit. If you follow the instructions step by step it takes no longer than 15-20 minutes.Do a search for seatbelt and its in the first few threads ( sorry cant post links)!!!!!
