Hi, I've got my BCF2000 now set up nicely in MCU mode and it's fine for what i want, however, the button below the pan controls is mapped to mute the channel and I'd get far mor use out of solo,so,is there a quick way to exchange 'mute' for 'solo' in the Mackie control/BCF implementation? cheers MC
Just plug it in making sure it's set to mackie mode (switch on holding down the second button from the left on the top row),go to control surfaces in prefs and add Mackie contol universal as a device then add the BCF input/outputs and away you :D MC

Also once in Reaper, press the bottom left button of the encoder groups section along with the store button. This enables the bcf to update itself with what channels you are actually showing on the mixer allowing you to hide the ones you don't want to show (use the sws extension for the easiest way) You can also use the top left encoder group button (shift) to make both rows above the faders turn into function buttons that can be used for key commands. I have my top row to store trackview 1 - 8 and then load trackview 1 - 8 for the bottom row. Lastly the store, learn, edit and exit key can also be used for key commands. :) :)
Might be a miscommunication :) have a look at this mcu mode layout. You have the right second button aka store but the first button to press as well as is known on that diagram as "lower shift" which is the bottom left button of the four "top right" group of buttons. I forgot about the write function ;) note this only works if you have hidden some tracks in your mixer, you should then see your bcf2000 update it's faders to reflect it. ALSO.. if you haven't got it, get the BCFview software which gives you the mackie display you can place at the bottom of your screen :) I have my own edited version that you can see in my screenshots I posted a while back (if I could find them again) :)
THanks, I think I've sorted it,if I hitthe encoder button then Learn then hit thepreset (bank) button it shows my selected unhidden tracks so thats fine. The BCF view has been a bit flakey here, had a few lockups with it,is it stable your end? MC

Are you sure your using the current bcf driver. You have to check in driver manager that it says the current version alongside the icon and not just something like "audio driver". Very important to get the driver installed right or you will also blue screen. I'm also on xp so not tried vista. The bcf view is working fine if you right click it and choose the same midi port as the bcf comes in on (i have two working fine in usb mode) but will check settings. I use to have problems in nuendo with the fact you can have emulated windows midi drivers and real but choosing the real ones i think was the answer. The only thing i noticed was i only get names up on mine and no fader level. Do you get fader level on the bcfview? I might have broken it somehow. I get this fades read out with the klinke mackie plug in but that doesn't do what i need. :)
Any reason why you guys aren't using Clerik's setup?.......................just get Clerik's BCF setup pack along with the BCmanager app and follow the instructions in the readme. I got my BCF 3 days ago and tried for a day to get it to work with no luck.......as soon as I tried Clerik's setup it worked right from the get go....in Vista and XP Pro -scott
