Overeager Car Wash

Hope you are all well, I went to a carwash the other day and the overeager staff managed to pull off the drivers side cover to the light washer. You know the cap on the bumper. It's not broken just come off. The problem is the mounting it uses only pops out when you use the washer spray. How do I get the mechanism out to reattach it? I clearly don't want to break it. I have one of these missing, when I ordered the part the guy at Volvo said that you should be able to pull the sprayer out with some long nosed pliers.

I actually pulled one of mine off a few days ago - trying to clean under it - Replaced it easily - just got Chris to sit in the car and operate the washers - grabbed the stalk when it extended, and clipped the cover back in place - make sure you remove the little 4 armed fitting, and clip it into the cover, and then it it - it won't work the other way round!
