Type of tyre can effect road noise. When I bought my S60 it had a budget tyres on the front and when I changed them the difference was amazing. Could be the type of tyres?

I've recently learned just how much tyres can play a part in road noise. Having switched from Michelins Pilot Sports to Goodyear F1s, the noise level has definitely gone up and eventhough I've got a higher tyre sidewall, the ride is actually a little harder too.....I guess its down to the compound.

The Bridgestone Potenzas on the standard wheels of my T4 make a hell of a lot more noise than the Pirelli 6000's on my 850. Thats the last time I buy Bridgestone at 120 quid each, they are deafening on the motorway.
