I would buy 003, fast computer, and Producer pack. Never invest in anything that isn't made anymore unless it says "Neve" "Fairchild" or "Neumann" on it. TH

studiomusic is WRONG. Mix systems function with G3s, G4 single, G4 dual and with a few models of the the first generation of G5s.

Thanks for the replies guys..... Most of the mix 24 systems I'm seeing on ebay, the seller is including their Mac G4. Currently I have a Mac PowerBook G4 1.33GHz 768MB RAM. Which I know I can use with the 003. I'm not really willing to go with an HD system not only because of cost, but as a song writer It's too much for a home studio. Besides a New Mac would up the 4700.00 price quoted one of the posts. Let me pose the question this way, If you had $3500.00 budget, which direction would you go? I have a friend that does post production with mix 24, two 888's, and a control

I have used a 002r with my Mac Pro and a Mix system with a G4 dual 566. I ended up only using the Mix system. So, for me, I would go with a mix system with an Apogee AD8000 as the interface. Get as many mix farm cards as you can, and as fast a computer (dual processors a must!) as you can. Then make the jump to HD. You can NEVER have too much power!
